Coach Lineup

Players will have guaranteed engagement with every coach

Jason D'Amore | Men's Head Coach | LMU

Jason D’Amore, member of the LMU men’s golf program from 2005-08 and a Class of 2015 Inductee to the LMU Athletics’ Hall of Fame, was named Head Coach of the men’s golf team in June of 2016. His fifth season will be in 2020-21.

Even with the COVID-19 pandemic impacting the country, D’Amore’s Lions are in the midst of a special run in the Spring of 2021. In three straight tournaments, the Lions earned a runner-up finish at the Nick Watney Invitational (Feb. 8-9, 2021), before claiming back-to-back team titles at The Joust at Goose Creek (Feb. 22, 2021) and the Sacramento State Invitational (Mar. 1-2, 2021). All three individual titles in that stretch were won by an individual for the first time in school history, with senior Gavin Cohen winning consecutive events and freshman Riley Lewis following with his first collegiate victory. The records accomplished during this run include a program-record 28-under par (284-275-277—836) team finish in the Nick Watney Invitational led by Cohen finishing second all-time and one stroke off the school record for tournament scoring with his 70-66-67—203, and a team-record 25-stroke victory in a tournament at CBU’s The Joust.

Andrew Larkin | Men's Head Coach| Santa Clara

A successful collegiate assistant and head coach, as well as a professional player, Andrew Larkin is in his first season leading the Santa Clara men’s golf program.

Larkin, hired in May 2020, spent the previous five seasons as an assistant coach with UCLA where he helped direct the Bruins to three NCAA Regional appearances, including a championship berth in 2018, under coach Derek Freeman. UCLA was ranked No. 25 nationally by Golfstat.com when the 2019-20 season was canceled.

A professional player since 2012, Larkin was a finalist for the 2019 Jan Strickland Outstanding Assistant Coach Award.

During his time at UCLA, the program produced eight individual medalists, a Ben Hogan Award final 25 selection, nine all-conference selections and four All-Pac 12 Freshman choices.

He has demonstrated success in recruiting, helping sign the Nos. 3 and 5-ranked players in the country in 2016, two top 20 players in 2017, three top 35 recruits in 2018, and the 14th-ranked American and No. 11-ranked amateur in the world in the class of 2020.
