Chuck Winstead | Head Coach | LSU
Players, coaches, fans and recruits across the country recognize LSU among the premier programs in college golf as the Tigers have reached unparalleled heights in 16 seasons under head coach Chuck Winstead. While capturing the program’s fifth national championship in 2015, the Tigers advanced to the Match Play Eight in three-straight years from 2014-16, cracked the Top 10 nationally at the NCAA Championships in four of the last seven years the event has been played and advanced to the NCAA Championships eight times in the last 11 seasons since making their breakthrough in 2010.
Brad McMakin | Head coach | Arkansas
A highly successful coach prior to joining the Razorbacks, McMakin turned around the Arkansas program in just two years and took the team to new heights in the spring of 2009 when he led them to a runner-up finish at the NCAA Championships. In his 16 seasons as the head coach, McMakin’s teams have been to 14 NCAA Regionals (Note: 2020 NCAA postseason was canceled due to COVID-19) and eight NCAA Championships, while winning 30 team titles along the way, including the 2019 SEC Championship.
While his teams have shown an ability to rise to the best competition, it is McMakin’s ability to recruit and develop top-notch talent that makes him successful. Since his arrival, Arkansas has had 20 All-SEC selections, nine SEC All-Freshman selections, 21 All-American honors and 31 All-Region picks while five Razorbacks have played in seven Arnold Palmer Cups.
Jamie Bermel | Head Coach | Kansas
During the 21-22 season, Bermel led the Jayhawks to perhaps the most successful season in program history. The Jayhawks won five tournaments, establishing a new program record and also were ranked as high as No. 9 in the national rankings. Three individuals also earned medalist honors, winning titles at the Gopher Invitational, the Windon Memorial and the Hawkeye Invitational.
Ryan Blagg | Head coach | Louisville
In his first two seasons leading the program, Blagg has guided the Cardinals to a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances, which included a historic run at the NCAA Championships in 2020-21.
Under Blagg’s watch, the Cards closed the 2021-22 campaign ranked 38th in the final Golfstat rankings after narrowly missing out on another appearance at the NCAA Championships.
The 2021-22 season affirmed Louisville’s rise to the upper echelon of NCAA men’s golf as the Cardinals made their 12th appearance in the NCAA Regionals, finishing seventh overall in the Norman Regional. During the season, the Cards posted five top-five finishes, including a second at the Bank of Tennessee.
For the second-straight year, the Cardinals put a player on the All-ACC Team as Jiri Zuska earned the honor after securing four top-10 finishes and ending the season with a 71.33 stroke average, the sixth-best mark in school history.
Blagg’s first season couldn’t have gone any better as the Cardinals made an impressive run all the way to the fourth day of the NCAA Championship in Scottsdale, Ariz., a feat that had happened only three times in school history.
BRIAN KORTAN | Head Coach | Texas A&M
In his first two seasons as skipper, the Aggies earned two NCAA Regional bids, made an appearance at the 2022 NCAA Championship and advanced to the SEC Championship semifinal round twice. He has also guided the Maroon & White to five tournament titles over the span.
Kortan guided the Aggies to three tournament victories in 2021-22, including the Marquette Intercollegiate, Louisiana Classics and the Aggie Invitational. The Maroon & White was also runner-up at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate.
BILL ALLCORN | ASST. COACH | UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA
The 2021 Jan Strickland National Assistant Coach of the Year, Allcorn has helped oversee Oklahoma cement itself atop collegiate golf.
In his first year with the Sooners, Allcorn helped OU reach the match-play quarterfinals at the 2018 NCAA Championships.
The team also claimed the 2018 Big 12 Championship and won four regular-season team titles, the program’s most in one year since 1989.
